BATING BELIEF. (By Teleg?apii : —Association.) WHANG ABET, May 22. The principal business of tlie provincial Farmers’ Union conference yesterday was discussion of a reriiit: “That the conference support a proposal to increase the petrol 1 tax sufficiently to enable exemption of agricultural and pastoral lands, from rates.” It was_-ultimately decided’ to insert the. word “road” be fore “rates,” and in this form the remit was unanimously adopted.
