OPERA HOUSE —TO-NIGHT

‘ ‘ THE DE LIGHTFUL ROGUE.”

An unusual comedy-drama, “The Delightful Rogue, ” with Rod la Roche in the leading role, commences screening at the Opera House to-night. Rita La Roy is a charming heroine, whoso voice sounds splendidly. The story revolves around a comic opera pirate, who is feared by everybody. He is supposed to be a woman-hater, with the knowledge that he will be killed if he goes into the waterfront town, but he seeks entertainment there, and he meets the heroine, half-owner of a cabaret —and its chief attraction. He falls in love with her, but she is in love with a well-to-do traveller, who wants to take her back with him. He is a cad in that he is brave when there is no danger. He informs the troops that the her > is to meet the heroine on the beach, ar.d has him taken to gaol, but the hero's men, who had entered gaol, lead the troops into the river and take the young traveller to the hero's ship. Later the heroine comes to ask him to free the young man. He makes a seemingly insultingly proposal, so the heroine decides to stay in the room with the hero until next morning to test the young man's love for her. The end of the picture is full of exciting incidents. “The Delightful Rogue' 1 ' is probably the best sea picture ever made in sound. “The Shady Lady," a P.D.C. attraction, feturing Phyllis Haver, will also be shown as a special added attraction. The box plans are at Miss Blake’s sweet shop.

GRAND THEATRE. DONOVAN-SARR ON FIGHT. In view of the much-discussed dcci sion given by the referee at the conclusion of the third bout between Sarron and Donovan, the film- of the tight, nowbeing shown at the Grand Theatre, is interesting followers of boxing. The fdm is a particularly good one, showing every incident of tiie 15 rounds, which were fought at good pace. It is worthy of mention that each round on the screen occupies exactly the time that it did during the contest. Patrons who see this picture will be able to judge for themselves whether Donovan deserved the verdict or not, as well as be giver, opportunity of seeing a thrill ing film, which, by the way, does not confine itself to the fight alone, bat shows other phases of the event. A fine supporting programme is also shown, which includes the Paramount feature production, “Marquis Preferred,'' starring Adolphe Menjou. and the new series of “The Collegians.''
