MAW-SON'S DISCOVERIES. (Units’ll Press Association—By Electric TelegrapU Copyright.) SYDNEY, May 21. The report of Sir Douglas Mawson, loader of the Australian and New Zealand Antarctic research expedition, says it can be definitely asserted that off the coast of Enderb.v Land there exists a vorv valuable whale fishery. “It. would appear that the Norwegian exploring vessel Norwegia located this whaling ground simultaneously with ourselves and from that lislicrA millions of pounds w r orth of products will be recovered in the next few years,” the report adds. “Exhaustive hydrological data have been secured. About 1000 deep sea soundings were recorded, while N biological studies . were continued throughout the. cruise on an extensive SC ale. * * The report also deals with experiences in the pack ice, after which Sii Douglas states he charted a new area, which he designated Macßobertson Land, together with lands further west, known as Kemp Land and Enderbv Land, the whole of which has been claimed for the Crown.
