RUGBY COLOURS

BRITISH TEAM’S OFFER.

WILL PLAY TESTS IN ALL WHITE.

DESIRE TO AVOID DISCORD

(By Telegraph —Press Association.) WANGANUI, May 17

iMr James Baxter, manager of the British .Rugby team, sent the following lector to Dr. G. J. Aoams, president New Zealand Union:. “As the All Blacks’ colours appear to count so much to a very considerable section of Rugbv players and supporters ini New Zealand, and as it is our most earnest desire that mat.one single jarring note should mar our visit, my team will be only too happy to play in all white in the four Test, matches, in all other games, of course, the usual custom to bo observed when: colours clash, i. 0., the home team, to make the necessary change. !‘I‘!1 should like to place on record that this offer is- spontaneous. No suggestion or even a hint has been made by any member of the executive.’’ Asked toi express his opinion about the matter, Dr Adams- said: “I can say ho more than it is simply wonderful and typical of Mr Baxter and. his team. Apparently nothing .is impossible with a true Britisher.’
