MEETING OF EOROTJiGH COUNCIL. The regular monthly meeting of the Eltham Borough Council was held last evening, when there were present: The Mayor (Mr I. J. Bridger) and Councillors A. Kemp,, W. DERAETAIENTAL REPORTS'

The following reports, on the past month’s operations were submitted and adopted: — _ . OVERSEER.

Roads. —(Scarifying and reforming the existing tarred surface m 'Collingwood Street for a distance of six chains was carried out. The metalled portion of York Street was graded and sanded. 4. start has been- made widening the Mountain Road. Removal of stones from the metalled roads was attended Footpaths. —'Paths' in Julian Street were chipped, graded with clay and sanded. The chipping of paths was continued in Conway Road, Collingwood, .Stunners, Castle, York, [London and Taylor Streets. Portions of High unci Preston .Streets received a topdressing. . General.—Repairs were carried out near the bridge on the Eltliam Road, where the guard fence was damaged. A. practice of dumping whole tins and other lumber on the dump site other than were notified is becoming a common occurrance with some persons. ‘SANITARY INSPECTOR. No notifiable diseases wore reported by the sanitary inspector. BOROUGH INSPECTOR. Four informations had been laid for breaches of the motor regulations and 10 drivers’ licenses were issued. Impounding?, for which £1 12s in fees was collected, totalled 20 head of stock. Reserves. —The caretaker recommended the planting of more trees this season on the Soldiers’ Memorial Park. FINANCIAL.
