FASHION FORECASTS.
<e SILK TWEED TAILLEUR. Tweeds have once again come into their own, but are of a more silky texture than heretofore. Also the severe tailored lines are favoured for the winter suit. Lillian Doth, the youthful player in the all-talking picture, ‘ ‘ Honey, ’ wears a very smart ensemble of brown and beige mixture. A mannishly tailored blouse of beige silk and a jaunty brimmed felt hat complete the costume. THE SHAWL RETURNS. After a couple of seasons in "which the shawl has been practically out of favour, it again steps into its own. A most striking new evening mode is introduced by Jeanette McDonald, the charming player in ‘ ‘ The Vagabond King. ’ ’ Miss MacDonald recently wore a circular velvet shawl in tomato shadings. Long chenille fringe in shaded tonings added to the majestic sweep of the wrap. GLOVES OF IMPORTANCE. The short gauntlet and elbow-length glove is the most important fashion accessory of the season, says Kay Francis. Miss Francis has shoulder-length gloves of nude suede for the formal gown, elbow-length gloves of black suede for her afternoon frocks, and short gauntlets of natural doeskin for sport and street costumes.
