WESTFIELD STOCK SAKE. (flv Telegraph—Press Association.^ AUCKLAND, April 30. At Westfield fat stock market today ox beef was offered in larger numbers than usual. The quality was first-class, but the demand had not improved and last week’s values again •ruled. Extra heavy prime bullocks realised £l4 5s to £l4 10s, medium prime, £lO 17s 6d to £ll 12s 6d; small and unfinished, £7 12s Gel to £9 2s -6‘d. Cow and heifer beef came for- ' ward in well up to the usual numbers, and quality was up to the usual standard. Competition was steady and last week’s values were again recorded. Prime heavy heifers realised £lO to £11; prime young cows and heifers £8 to £9 12s 6cl, medium prime £7 to £7 15s, light £5 15s to £6 10s, other cows. £5 to £5 7s 6d. Extra choice ox beef sold to 37s per 1001 b; choice and prime, 34s to 38s; secondary and plain, 32s to 335, prime young cow and heifer, 30is to 335, just killable 23s to 295. Sheep were yarded in the usual numbers, for which the demand was steady and values generally were quite' firm. Extra heavy prime wethers brought 27s 9d to 28s 9d; heavy prime 27s 3d to 27s 6d; medium 25s to 26s 9d, light and unfinished, 22s 9d to 24s 3d, heavy prime ewes 18s 6d to 22s 3d, lighter 16s 3d to 17,s 6d, other ewes 12s to 15s 3d. The top price was £7 18s 6d. In the dairy cattle section the entry numbered 69 head, and the quality was average. There was demand for good cows close to profit, but a dragging sale for the remainder. Values were: Best second and third culvers to £ls 15s, others £4 15s to £l4, extra, good heifers to £*l4. ss, good £ll to £l3 10s, others £7 to £lO 10s. In the fat pigs section there was a heavy entry of porkers and the result was a decline in value by 7s to 10s a head. A large entry of baeoners sold at values a little above those of last week. Values were: Choppers, £3 to £7 3s 6d, porkers 42s to 51s, heavy porkers 53s to £3 5s (average price per lb 7-Jd to SJd), light baconers £3 7s 6d to £4, heavy baeoners, £4 2s 6d to £4 14s 6d, extra heavy baeoners to £5 Is 6d (average price per lb, 6£d to 7£d).
