HAWERA LIGHT HORSE. The three officers are Major R. H. Davies, in lead; Lieut. R. A. Matthews, on grey horse; and Lieut. E. Bartlett, all of whom rendered distinguished service in the Boer War. In the Great War Major Davies rose to the rank of Major-General.
