Kimberley has a desolate appearance after ‘ a disastrous fire involving a loss of £500,000. Nine buildings, including a large drapery establishment, the Theatre Royal and the Waldorf Cafe, were destroyed by the fire, whicli started at 11 o’clock at night in a shop under the cafe, from which the _ staff and customers escaped in the nick of time.
