•MONEY IN USED STAMPS. (To tho Editor), Sir, —In tho Bay of Plenty there is a man who for the past 15 years has been unostentatiously engaged in a selfsacrificing work on behalf of the Manurewa, Children’s Home in which he- is very much interested. He discovered that there was money in used stamps, and, undertook to dispose of qny that interested people might col- , feet, for the benefit of the home. With the generous assistance of the Press, a stamp collecting campaign was inaug-| prated, which has been growing steadily through the years. In the first complete year Mir E. V. Wiltshire (the .gentleman referred to in the opening "paragraph) remitted 'to 'the treasurer lof the home £ls 10s 6d; the highest annual return has reached £43 10®, and it is hoped this year to do even) better than that, Mr Wiltshire remits I the (gross proceeds of sailes, ancl; has up i to date forwarded a total of £417. He aims to produce £IOOO, (hence. this further appeal by the courtesy of the Press of the Dominion. The above sum has been produced from stamps saved from the waste paper basket to be burned, and we appeal to business < firms and others to tear off the stamps from their correspondence part cels, etc., and send to us. If any can send us something 'better, such as accumulated odd/ lots, higher values or discarded 1 collections, they will be the more appreciated, but we will gladly welcome any and: all sorts of stamps, which will be marketed to the best ad-

vantage. All interested in child welfare are invited to share in this* effort, and we cordially thank all friends who are already helping in this direction.
