r j HAWERA BOROUGH COUNCIL. SPECIAL ORDER. IS HEREBY GIVEN that , at a Special Meeting of the Hawera Borough Council held at the Council Chambers, Hawera, on MONDAY, the 27th day of January, 1930, the following resolution was passed:— WHEREAS the sum of £2700 borrowed by the Hawera Borough Corporation in the year 1920, being the amount of a loan known as the “Waterworks Improvement Repayment Loan,’' is due and payable on the 10th day of February, 1930. AND WHEREAS the Sinking Funds in respect of the said loan aTe insufficient to pay off the same and the sum of £2OOO is required to pay off the said Loan. NOW THEREFORE the Hawera Borough Council at a Special Meeting of the said Council held at the Council Chambers, Haw*era, on the 27th day of January, 1930, and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926," HEREBY RESOLVES by way of Special Order:— FIRST.—To raise a Special Loan of £2OOO under “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,“ for the purpose of paying off the said Special Loan of £2700, which is due and payable on the 10th day of February, 1930. SECOND.—That the said Special Loan of £2OOO be called “The £2OOO Waterworks' Repayment Loan, 1930.” THIRD.—That the currency of the said Special Loan be for a period of fifteen years from the 10th day of February, 1930. FOURTH.—That the interest on the said Special Loan be at the rate of Five and a half pounds (£SJ) per centum per annum. FIFTH. —That the said Special Loan of £2OOO be repaid with interest thereon by thirty half-yearly payments of Ninety-eight pounds fifteen shillings (£9& 15s) each, payable on the 10th day of August and February (luring the currency of the said Special Loan. SIXTH. —That the security for the said Special Loan of £2OOO and the interest and other charges in respect thereof shall be a Special Rate of 77/1000ths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of that portion only of the rateable property in the Borough of Hawera comprising the whole of the Borough of Hawera as originally constituted and described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1882, volume 1, page 5. AND NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a Special Meeting of the said Council will be held at the Council Chambers, Hawera, on TUESDAY, the 25th day of February, 1930, at which the . THE LAND AND INCOME TAX (ANNUAL) ACT, 1929. SPECIAL LAND TAX PAYABLE. Order in Council, made and issued by His Excellency the GovernorGeneral in Council on the 4th day of November, 1929, under the authority of the above Act, it was determined that the duty by way of special land tax leviable under the said Act should be paid in one sum on FRIDAY, the 28th day of February, 1930, at the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, Government Buildings, Wellington; and, in accordance with such Order in Council, I hereby give notice that the said duty 1 will be payable accordingly. Additional tax will accrue if the tax is not paid on or before 21st'March, 1930. Tht liability to pay is not suspended by any objection. The tax should be paid on or before the prescribed date, otherwise the additional percentage accrues; any overpayment will be adjusted by refund. The demands will be posted from the office of the Commissioner of Taxes on or about 21st February, 1930.
