Values were on a par with late rates for good cows and heifers, but recorded 1 a 1 decline of 30s to £2 pethead for second-rate sorts. 'Store cattle.—A medium yarding of chiefly 18-months and yearlings. Prices were, equal to late rates. Potting bulls wore in good demand. Fat pigs.—A small entry and a very good sale. Prices all round improved. Values were: Choppers, £3 to £7 Is; baconers, £3 15s to £5 19s 6d; average price per lb, 74d to- 8d; porkers, 60s to 7'2s- average price per lb, 91fl to lOd. 'Store pigs.—A medium entry and prices eased considerably. Values were: Stores, 28s to 455; best weanors, 20s to 26s Gd; others, 15s to ISs fid.

ABOARD THE “ULIMAROA” During a. recent trip of the “Ulimaroa” .to Sydney a New Zealand business man shared the cabin with an Australian.
