(From Our Own Correspondent.)
GENERAL. Owing to tlie inclemency of tlie weather many picnic parties have been curtailed. The temperature has been decidedly, low and camping under canvas lias been far from pleasant. Ensilage making is almost completed, but a lew crops of iiay are still standing. A severe type of summer cold is prevalent among the children.at present . A high percentage of fat lambs has been obtained by the local farmers. Prices are very satisfactory. The season lias been a splendid one for dairying and a flush of green feed still continues. PERSONAL. Mrs. P. D’Artli and daughters called on Mrs. Robinson after ,a tour of the hot lakes district and Waitomo LavesMr. R. WelLs and Master B. Jackson have been staying with Mrs. O’Sullivan. Mrs. Cooper senr., Mr. and Mrs. G. Cooper, M>‘. and Mrs. E. Cooper, Miss E. McLaughlin, and Miss M. Grimshaw have been the , guests of Mrs. Harvie during the Christinas and New fear holidays. Mr. and Mrs. C. Barclay have taken a beach, cottage at New Plymouth. Mrs. Comerford, Master Bruce, and Miss Valerie Comerford are spending a holiday in Greyinouth. Master C. Goile is visiting New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. Terrill have taken up their residence in the district.
