The Alinister of Marine stated: “As soon as possible tall French, ships shall be built in France,” adding, “between July, 1928, and. November 3, 1929, France added 300,000 tons to her mercantile marine, of wiliich England and Ireland built 90,000 tons and Germany 40,000 tons. We must no. longer be dependent on other Powers.”
