SCHOOL HANDWORK
EDUCATION BOARD APPROVAL. A request received from the secretary of South Taranaki Winter Show (Mr L. O. Hooker) for co-operation in the 1930 Show, which will include a public school exhibition of hand work, was discussed at yesterday’s meeting of the Taranaki Education Board, and approved. The chairman (Air S. G. Smith) said ho was in favour of helping exhibitions of handwork as it would -bring forcibly to the parents an idea of the work carried out in the schools. The value to visiting teachers was emphasised. It .was said new ideas were circulated by this means. Air J. H. White approved of the scheme on the whole, but said there should be some guarantee exhibits were returned. In moving that, the request for cooperation be acceded -to, the chairman said the co-operation of the teachers would have to be obtained.
