PINNED UNDER WATER. CAR’S PLUNGE FROM ROAD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 6. Pinned in a motor car when it swerved from the road near Penrose on Saturday evening and partially collapsed in five feet of water, Mr C. M. Cox. together with his wife- and son, had a narrow escape from being drowned*. Cox scrambled clear and dragged out his wife, who was semi-conscious- from striking her head, and extricated with difficulty his -son, who was pinned betho seait. Artificial respiration had to be used to restore the son to consciousness.
