NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI. Jan. 6. The North Island tennis championships were continued to-day. In combined championship doubles Malfroy and Miss Preedy defeated Steelman and Mi's Adams 7 —5, 4 —6, 6—2; Wi'ison and Mrs Melody defeated Lampe and Miss Myers 6 —3, 6—l.
The final of the ladies’ singles is to be played this afternoon.
