“MOST WONDERFUL SHIP”
BRITISH NAVY'S LATEST. FLOATING REPAIR DEPOT. 'United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) LONDON, Jan. 4. The, British Navy's most wonderful ship, ef 13,500 tons, named Resource, is the Mediterranean Fleet’s new repair ship, with 20 different workshops, each fitted with the latest plant, also a foundry and smithy. The ship’s principal duty will bo to keep the Mediterranean warships in condition, but it will also b c able to supply them with water and oil. The vessel has double bottoms so constructed as to enable it to carry in them 200 tons of distilled water, 200 tons of boiler water, 100 tons of lubricating oil, and 400 tons of oil fuel. The ship also carries powerful wireless and searchlight plants. The latter is for illuminating any ship mn which night work may be necessary. The only arm. mament consists of two four-inch guns on high angle mountings, enabling them to bn used against aircraft.
