The billiards match between the Englishman Willie Smith and the Australian Walter Lindrum resulted injan unexpected win for Smith by 24,719 to 24.147. Smith was congratulated on his surprising victory. It is recognised that if Lindrum is" the greatest player today the Darlingtonian is the greatest fighter. The New Zealander Clark MeConachy won his match against Carpenter.
