FIFTY=TWO CHILD VICTIMS MANY DANGEROUSLY ILL MEDICAL MEN BAFFLED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph CoDvrijrdt.) BERLIN, Jan. 4. Doctors admit they arc baffled bv the epidemic among the Mennonite refugees fr.oin Russia who are encamped at Mammcrstein. Pomerania. Fifty-two children under four have already died and 40 are dangerously ill. Th 0 illness has taken the form of a sudden fever with inflammation of the lungs. It proves fatal in a few' hours. The malady is believed to be due to a rare streptococcus. All the children have been innoculated and the camp has been strictly isolated.
