Two women were killed and three others injured, one critically, when a ear was struck by a train at a level crossing near Newport, Victoria. Six deaths from ear smashes in different. States and drowning complete the week-end toll. Eight people were injured when a double tram crashed into a stationary tram at Balmain, and many others suffered shock. Many women fainted. Botli trams were damaged.
