EARLY MORNING BLAZE
OUTBREAK AT TAUMARUNUI. BUILDING GUTTED. (By I'eiegrapn—Press Association.) TAUMARUNUI, Jan. 6. Fire broke out in Manuaute St. at 3.15 this morning in a building owned by ( A. G. Riches and occupied by Every bodies’ Motors and J. Patterson, saddler. The structure was practically gutted and practically all stock carried by both firms was destroyed. The alarm was given by three engineers working at the lyyrg’s Piet me Theatre, which adjoints the damaged building. The brigade did good work in saving the theatre, only one wall being slightly burnt. Films worth £ISOO stored in the theatre were removed to another place. Another outbreak at 6.45 was quickly extinguished. Insurances on the building are for £3OO. Patterson's stock was insured for £4OO.
