ENGLISH TOURING STDE, NELSON GAME RESUMED. (By Telegraph—P r asa Association.) NELSON, Dec. 21. The weather was fine to-day after the heavy rain of yesterday for the resumption of the England v. Nelson cricket match., The covered wicket was not effected, hut the outfield was slow. With an overnight score of five for 131. Eden (35) and Hawkes (0) faced Nichols and Barratt. In the second over Eden went Lb.tv. to Barratt without adding to the score. The same howler clean bovfied R. Newman in the same over. J. Newman was another victim to Barratt in the third over, and with the following ha'll Barratt skittled Search. Nine were down for 140 at noon. Nelson’s innings closed for 142.
PLUNKET SHIELD GAME, WELLTNGTON ELEVEN. The Plnnket Shield team to represent Wellington against Canterbury, commencing next Saturday, is; Lowry, Dempster, .Tames, Hadooek. AfcGirr. Henderson, Airey, Lamason, Mackenzie, Lambert, and Hope. Among those not available were McLeod, Eolev, Hollings and Worker.
