CHILD ENDOWMENT
RETENTION IN N.S.W. NO CHARGE ON INDUSTRY. CONTRIBUTIONS FROM EMPLOYERS AND EMPLOYEES. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 11.30 a.m. to-day. SYDNEY, Nov. 18. It is now considered certain that the State Cabinet will retain the child endowment scheme, but will draft a formula to provide for a basic wage for the man and wife without children at above £4 weekly. The endowment fund will not be made a direct charge on industry as at present, hut the fund may be built up by weekly contributions from employer and employees and a subsidy from the Government.
