FIERCE WRESTLING

ALLEY BEATS WALKER. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 4. The return wrestling match between George Walker and Tom Alley ended in the sixth ruoiul, Walker winning by two falls to one. All three were submission falls. It was fierce wrestling ali the time and the crojwd was kept at a high pitch of excitement as the contestants chased one another round the ring. Hooting was indulged in occasionally by a section of the spectators. It was a good even contest, Walker again exhibiting amazing strength for a man of his size. Aliev showed himself a very clever wrestler. Tie was rather unlucky in the third round when the gong saved Walker from a crucifix. With one fall to his credit this would have meant the match to Alley. AVhen Walker applied a partial hammerlock in the fourth round Alley had to submit, and in spite of the attention paid to his arm during the interval he came out of his corner for the ensuing round with his arm hanging by his side. Amidst the jeers and yell. ing of the crowd AValker obtained another hold on the injured arm and quickly forced his opponent into submission. Alley’s arm had to receive medical attention at the conclusion of the bout but examination revealed nothing more than severe cramp caused by the pressure applied by Walker in his efforts to obtain the lianimerloek.
