Sopt. 5. The stringency of money in South Africa is reflected by the increase' of the discount rate of the Reserve Bank to six per cent.. The Commercial Bank is offering higher interest on fixed deposits. The had position of the country is accentuated by a decrease in wool prices, which is costing the country five millions.
