Both matches were keenly contested a nd aroused the spectators to heights or l enthusiasm, the result being in doubt in each instance until the final whistle. Results are: Section A. —Poverty Bay A beat Rotorua 3 to 1; South Canterbury bea.t Bush one to nil; Southland beat Ruahine 2 to 1. Section B. —Hawke’s Bay beat Poverty Bay B 9 to nil; Eastern Southland beat Wairampa 4 to 1; Canterbury beat Wellington 3 to 2. Aggregate results are: Southland 6 wins, Ruahine 5, Poverty Bay A 4, Rotorua 3, South Canterbury 1 win and a. draw, Bush 1, Auckland A no wins and one draw. Section B: Can-, terbury 6 wins, Wellington 5, Hawke’s Bay 3 and a draw, Eastern Southland 3, Wairarnpa. 2 and a draw, Auckland B 1, Povery Bay B no wills.
