TARIANAKI TO MEET AUCKLAND ENCOUNTER ON SATURDAY. The fifth of the season’s engagements of the Taranaki Rugby representatives is listed for to-morrow, when the team is to meet Auckland! at New Plymouth. Judging by reports of the AncklandCanterbury game of last. Saturday, m which the northerners were fully extended, in what was referred to as the most spectacular game of the year, together witii the, exhibition in Taranaki, Canterbury gave at Stratford yesterday. the contest at New Plymouth tomorrow should prove a keen struggle. Wilis W Baldwin Ike McLean W. Robinson (hookers) F. Gargan Emerge lie ie-s : Backs, Tv. Fookes, J. Crawford, Owen; forwards, F. Wolfe, G. Baldwin. TARANAKI TOURING SIDE. Certain alterations have been made in the Taranaki team by the selector (Mr W. A. Guy) with a, view to the ultimate selection ol the side to go on tour next week. Twenty-one players will be required. These will be selected from the team and emergencies chosen for the Auckland game, together with Collins, Grant. Hunter, Williams Espin, J. Lusk and Bond. Any player unable to go on tour is requested to advise the secretary before Saturday afternoon. Nineteen player® will also be required for the B touring team, which is to meet Rangitikei at Marton on September 18 and Wellington at 'Wellington on September 21. The personnel will he announced after the final selection of the A touring side.
