ENTERTAINMENTS.

GJRIAND THEATRE, TO-NIGHT “GIRLS GONE WILD.” A new film “team” lias been launched. by Fox Films with the co-feattiring of Sue Carol and Nick Stuart in “Girls Gone Wild,” which will be screened at the Grand Theatre to-night. “Girls Gone Wild” is a clever story of a care-free flapper, spoiled by indulgent parents and permitted to shatter laws with impunity, who goes a step too far in .search of a “thrill” and becomes involved in a blood feud between desiderate gangsters. Saved by the heroism of a representative of the despised law and the poor-boy sweetheart she had flouted because he was “too honest,” she is regenerated by love and a realisation that modern freedom of youth is not license. Episode 2 of the new serial “Ta.rzan the Mighty” will also bo shown as an added attraction in addition to .the Fox News' and Comedy. An excellent musical programme has been selected for to-night.

OPERA HOUSE, TO-NIGHT. “THE BELLAMY TRIAL” “The Bellamy Trial,” is Metro-Gold-wyn-Mayor’s sensational murder mystery and trial, which lias been attracting large audiences to the Opera- House will be screened for the last time tonight. With Leatrice Joy in the leading role as the beautiful defendant, the drama is played by a cast that represents one of the greatest assemblages of screen talent ever to appear in one production. There are. seventeen principal players and during the filming of the huge courtroom scenes some 80 persons were under weekly contracts and several hundred extra players were used. Introduced to the screen in a most novel manner by Monta Bell, who wrote and directed the screen play from the sensational magazine serial by Frances. Noyes Hart, the mystery drama maintains a thrilling tempo, of suspense that is dispelled only in the final footage that reveals the real murderer. As the woman on trial, Miss Jov brings to the screen an impressively sincere character delineation that reaps for her new honours as a free lance star. George Barraud plays opposite her as the loyal husband, who stands by liis wife in the face qf terrible accusations. Kenneth Thompson is- the mail defendant, the husband of the woman whose slaying provides the motivation for the plot-. With the preponderance of evidence against them, thet defendants listen to the prosecutor demand their lives to expiate the crime of which they arc accused. An eleventhhour development saves them from a conviction, but the murder remains unsolved until the last reel dramatic thrill shows all the amateur detectives in the audience how very -wrongly they suspected perfectly innocent persons in the cast. An excellent supporting programme includes a very- fine scenic “Deep Water Fishing.” The box plan for this evening is at Miss Blake's sweet shop.
