FANCY DRESS ASSEMBLY.
ATHLETIC CLUB GATHERING
SEASON’S SOCIALS CONCLUDED.
Arranged by special request, the sehj son’s second fancy dress dance coni ducted under the . auspices fo the Ha- | wera Amateur Athletic Cluh social committee was supported bv an assembly of about 200 at St.' Joseph’s Hall on WednesdaAl evening, a big proportion of the participants being in fancy dress. To the refrains of Boulton’s orchestra a well-balanced programme proved full of enjoyment, and as the season's final social to he held by the club the entertainment fully sustained the reputation gained by the preceding functions, which have been among the i most popular dance assemblies held in the Rawera district. Adjudication in the fancy dress competitions again proved an exacting task for Air. G. E. Laidlaw. whose awards, as announced by the cluh captain, Air. L. Hunt, were as follow: Ladies’ fancy costume. —Aliss Q. Thurston (Cowgirl) 1, Airs. E. P. Greaney (Harem Lady) 2. Ladies’ special prize (donated by Air. L. vS. Poison). —Miss G. Lav (Page Boy). Alen’s fancy costume. —All - ., F. Nyberg (Persian Prince) 1 Alen’s original costume.—Air. L. S. Poison (Toy Soldier). The supper tables were laden with an abundance of dainty edibles. Messrs L. Hunt, L. I. Marter, S. A. Lay, and .1, Freyne officiated as masters of ceremonies.
