WAVERLEY.
SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Waverley School Committee was held on Monday evening, when there were present: Messrs G. P. Spratt (in the chair), Christensen, Currie, Aiken, Wicks and Browning. The headmaster’s report showed a roll number of 201 and an average attendance for the past quarter of 171, the low average being due ho> continued sickness. A new building now being erected at 'the school provides for two class rooms, cloak room, store room-, porch and corridor. A letter was read from Benefield and Sons offering a colletcion of plants. The chairman explained that owing to building operations it would not bo wise to plant at present, and Mr Benefield had kindly allowed his offer to remain open till next year. The grounds committee reported that the top-dressing . ot the drill ground should be. gone on with this week. Accounts totalling £l7 11s 8d were passed for payment and the meeting then adjourned.
