TROPHIES FOR ATHLETES.
HAWERA CLUB WINNERS
Trophies won by members of the Hawera Amateur Athletic Club during the 1925-29 season in the progressive championship series, together with a number of prizes secured in individual races, are to be presented' at the.club’s, final plain and fancy dress dance oi the season to he held in St. Joseph’s hall on Tuesday next. The respective winners will he' the guests of the club for the evening, and the presentation ceremony, to he conducted by the popular president (Mr. A. Brant) should prove an added attraction to the gathering, which is expected to he the largest of those held by the club in the season’s series of socials.
The prize-winners are as follow: Burdekin Cup (running events). —L. A. Newall, 33 points. Athol Grant Cup (field events). —S. Lay, 28i points. Armstrong Cup (cycling events). —J. Dykes, 39 points. R. W. Sargent Cup (ladies’ events). —Miss E Toy, 23 points. Fred Bone Cup (primary school hoys). —L. Worley, 25£ points. E. Cann Cup (distance events). —J. Reading, 17 points. Gold Medal (walking events). —D. Wills, 15 points. Gold Medal (secondary school events) —H. Woollett, 21 points. Other trophies are to be presented to the following: H. Woollett, A. Mullins, W. Campbell, A. Seed, A. Dykes, H. Hutchins.
