WASHING HINTS.
Woollens washed in this wav are a delight to the wearer. Add soap jelly to lukewarm water until there is a nice lather. Squeeze the woollies tip and down in this until suit and clean. Rinse by squeezing in two warm waters, soft if possible. Failing soft water, use warm water to which ammonia lias been added, one tablespoonjful to the gallon of water The same amount of dissolved borax to a gallon of water will give an equally soft result . A rubber wringer way be used, but it- is oven better to remove the water bv squeezing it out with the hands, except in the case of the larger garments. After wringing shake well in the open air to raise the surface fibres, hang in the shade to dry and then fold evenly. Flannel garments may be lightly pressed with a warm iron.
