PERSONAL ITEMS.

Miss Terry, headmistress of the Hawera Infant School, is at present visiting her home at Otorohanga on account of the serious illness of her sister. A fractured arm was sustained by Mr R. R. Henderson when he was cranking a ear outside his residence in Glover Road, Hawera, yesterday. After receiving medical attention he returned to his home.

A resolution of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr G. W. Tayler s was carried by the New Plymouth Harbour Board yesterday. Mr Tayler Was a member of the board from April, 192'3, to April, 1927, as the representative of the boroughs of Eltham, (Stratford and Inglewood. At the special .meeting held yesterday of .the South Taranaki .executive of the Farmers ’ Union Air J. W. Deem was congratulated on his promotion to be director of the fields, division of the Department of Agriculture. In putting the motion Air E. J. Her kindly disposition endeared her to many friends in town and district. She is survived by her husband and isix daughters and six sons—-Alesdames L. Greer (Hawera), T. M. McLean (Wyndham), Af. Bridger (Eltham). C. Bowman (Hawera), and L. Christie (Edendale); Aliss Marion Thomson (Hawera); Messrs Andrew and Alexander (Wyndham), John (New Plymouth), Archibald (Alanutahi), Walter and Robert (Eltham).
