HAWERA TRACK NOTES. (By “Limited-.”) The weather was fine but dull this morning, when some useful gallops were performed. The trial grass was available, but was still very heavy. Glengariff, looking well after his easy time, was given useful pace work. 0. Brown sent Bisox and Silvermino a gallop over half a mile. Keeping together throughout, the pair finished on even terms in 54)sec C. Jackson gave Partaga and Latakia a. sprint over half a mile. Partaga was a head to the good at the finishing post in 55sec. Annoyer had Tenacre as a companion, and had the best- of the gallop by three-quarters of a. length in 55) see.

Pikimai was trotted and cantered on the inside. His soreness is wearing off, as he went more freely. Havering did a couple of rounds of ' the sand at half-pace, and is ready to send along faster when required. Grand Marnia and Joy Spear went from the five furlong post, registering 1 11 for the journey, with Joy Spear showing to advantage at the finish. Boundary hit out well in a round of the sand at three-quarter pace. Benzora, by himself, ran three furlongs down the hack on the grass in 42see. LI an ore skipped over three furlongs on the sand, which was faster than the grass, in 41sec. Ross Ferry went very attractively from the six furlong post on the sand, running three furlongs in 39sec. Royal Satin worked at three-quarter pace on the sand. A number of two-year-olds were out. The Hunt Club meeting at New Plymouth aL the end of the month is being looked forward to by local, trainers. and from now on horses engaged there will he hurried along in their work.
