CAR STOLEN.
T'.VO OTHERS INTERFERED WITH. \\ hive tbe Farmers’ Union ball was being held in the Mangatoki Had, last Wight, three cars outside were intertered with, one of them .being stolen. 'i’iie latter vehicle belonged to Mr W. E. Carter,, chairman of the Manga-, told branch of the Faimers’ Union, and up to the time of going to press it had not been recovered. It is a Buliok seidlan bearing the number 57 —1130, and the right front window, hay a triangular hole, at the right lower earner. A car belonging to Mr 0. Carlson was also taken, but in this case, the lighting system fused and the car was abandoned! in a gully not far from the, hall. Intereterenoe with a car belonging to Mr Gorrard was apparent, when it was discovered that the doors,, left securcfiy looked when the owner entered the hall, had been opened, apparently with another key. The ignlition key, however, was in Mr Gerrard’s pocket, and tin? engine had not been started. Mr Garter’s car was discovered this morning in Milmce Street, Haweira, by Mr J. Nairn, of Hnwora, and reported to the police. Steps are being taken to have ii restored to tbe owner.
