LONDON, Aug. 12. The Scouts’ jamboree ended with a remarkable -pageant of friendship. In the arena. Scouts of all nations mingled tor the. march past, the Chief Scout. lof low Lag alter the massed flags of all countries.. Lord Baden Powell stood in the centre of a huge wheel, of which the spoke® and rim were made up of Scouts standing at attention. Addressing the. boys, Lord Baden Powell, whose voice was cleanly heard, told liow some of those present belongedl to enemy nations in the World War, but be hoped that they would now be returning to. their countries to be emissaries- of .peace. Lord Baden Powell then buried the hatchet- at- the centre ol the wheel and then clasped the hands of the nearest- boys who .in turn clasped the hands of the others, friendship circulating from hand to hand right round the wheel and U P and down the spokes. The. Scouts .sang “Auld Lang Syne.” The .pageant made the deepest pression. Lord Baden Powell wa.s much affected by the demonstration of goodwill .
