HAWERA TRACK NOTES.

FIXTURES. July 25—Waimate Hunt. July 25, 27—Gisborne. «fuly 27 —South Canterbury Hunt. WA Or ATE- MEETING POSTPONED. (By Telegraph—Tress Association.) WAIMATE, July 18. Owing to weather conditions the Waimare Hunt Club's race meeting, to have been held on Saturday, is now cancelled, and the club is making application to hold the meeting at a later date.

(By “Limited.”) The tracks were again heavy yesterday morning and operations were conducted under winter conditions. The trial grass was a vail able for fast work but proved very 'heavy. \V. Pine sent his Callaghan—Attent filly with Calamine, the pair running the two furlongs in 2Ssee. Ross Perry e'asilv held Calyx in a I gallop over half a mile in 58sec. y J. Fryer sent 'Bright Glow, Men dip I and Paitonu a serviceable working gali lop over six furlongs, the trio keeping I together throughout. Bright Glow i worked well. I Partaga, L'atakia' and Bcnzora performed 'half pace work on the sand. Silent and Grand Marina galloped five furlongs, fho pair finishing together in 1.10 J. Silverminc and Bisox were allotted easy pace work. Bione did his pace work in good style on the sand. Iciogne was schooled by herself over the hurdles. This mare goes more confidently with a companion. Boundary beat the 'Gasbag—Compel gelding comfortably in a half mile gallop in 56scc. The latter has had Goalbag claimed as a‘ name for him. Guard of Honour went with 'Clever Spear, running the last three furlongs in 43fsee., with the Guard in front. M. Conway received an addition to his team yesterday in a three-vear-old filly by Bisogne from Carinthia, a Birkenhead mare, the property of Mr R. •Harper, of Feilding. Reremoana has been brought back from Kai Iwi and is being exercised by his trainer. J. Butler, in charge of Seatown, -passed through on the mail train yesterday en route for Sydney. Seatown is in splendid condition just now and as he has been very favourably handicapped on the other side, his prospects look bright. He has only to retain his form to collect some of the stake money. T. Green is to ride him in liis engagements. J. Fryer is making preparations for his Sydney trip and if satisfactory arrangements can be made, will leave in about a fortnight’s time.
