TARANAKI PRESBYTERY.
MEETING AT STRATFORD. The Taranaki Presbytery met at Stratford on Tuesday last, the Re\ . 3 • D. AY’ilson. presiding. A commission was given in for Mr S. Topless (\> aitara), and an apology- was sustained on behalf of tlie Rev. R. E. Evans, who was reported as still unfitted for full duty. The remainder of the morning sederunt was devoted to a communion service, in which the delegates to the P.A. and members of the Stratford session were associated with the Presbytery. After the luncheon adjournment the Presbytery resumed in business session. A deputation was heard m support of a resolution passed by the Ingle- 1 wood congregation, and it was agreed that the Presbytery review its decision in the matter of the transfer of tbe Inglewood home missionary. The clerk gave notice, of motion to rescind a prior resolution thereanent. A statement was made as to progress in the sale of the Ivaponga pro-, perty. The Rev. J. McGregor reported on his visit to AVhangamomona, and tlie home missionary (Air Steele) gave in a statcinetn. Tlie Presbytery learned with satisfaction that a .management committee had been appointed in this station. Sessions were directed, to consider remits under the Barrier Act (pages 58 and 59 of tlie Blue Book), and to report to next meeting of the Presbytery. The following triennial visitations were arranged (Presbytery elders being associated with the ministers in each case - ): Patea. Revs. R. E. Evans (convenor - ) and IT. C. Situ art; Hawera. Revs. H. J. Fletcher ('convenor') and R. Miller; Stratford.- Revs. .T. Rybnrn (convenor) and J. H. Com bes.
The clerk reported having issued a Presbyterian certificate to the Rev. -T. Crain who had removed from the bounds. Tlie general treasurer forwarded a statement of congreagtional assessments unpaid at date. and r> communication was tabled in regard to tbe work of the newly constituted advisory board.
