'taverner, Mimstei of Railways, this morning protesting against tlie increasing number of railway excursions and ueeiarrng that the department’s advertising ot them was tending to lower the morals of the community. . , ~ in a non-committal reply tlie Minister said that similar representations were to be made to him by other citizens and he promised that their arguments would receive the greatest possible consideration. He pointed outthat there was another side to the stion A demand for Sunday trains existed or the department would not fill it.
