ATTEMPT TO ROB BANK
INCIDENT AT OPOTIKI. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) OPOTIKT, April 2. Although the Bank of New Zealand is opposite the police station a daring attempt was made to rob the bank yesterday, it being a holiday, no one was on the premises, and when the manager’s son returned at 4.30 p.m. he found the place open and explosives fitted into the strongroom door. The detonator had not been lit, and the indications were the the robbers had been disturbed.
