WANGANUI STOCK SALE. Messrs Freeman, R. Jackson and Co. report as follows on their weekly Wanganui stock sale: “A far entry of sheep met with good competition and with the exception of cull lambs were firm at last week’s rates. Culls hardly reached last week s high figures, but, nevertheless, they sold very well. A small entry of cattle met a fair sale. Pigs, of which, there was a good entry, were back in price, weaners particularly going very cheaply.” Quotations : —■ „ . Ewes were forward from all surrounding quarters, and in addition a good few carried over from the previous sale were re-©tiered. On account of the impending holiday, entries in all classes of fat stock were small. Fat Lambs.—Elxtra good lambs made from 30s to- 31s lOd, good 28s to 2Js 6d, and others from 24s to 27s 6d. DUNEDIN, March 27. Prices were firm for most classes of. fat stock at Burnside sales to-day, and the market with one or two exceptions was spirited. There was a good demand for prime quality bullocks and prices were on a. par with those obtained at last sale. ,111 Fat Cattle. —Prime heavy bullocks sold from £lB 10s to £l9 10s, medium £l7 to £l3, light £ls to £l6; heavy heifer® £l2 to £l3 155., medium £ll to £ll 10s, light £9 15s to heavy cows £ll to £l2 ss, medium £9 to £lO 5s light £7 15s to 8 15s. Prune ox beef sold 011 a basis qf 46s arid medium 40s per 1001 b . Fat Sheep.—Heavy wethers sold from 42s to 455, prime 37s to 40s, light 3Us to 335; heavy ewes 32s to 345, prime 27,s to 30s. medium 20s to 245. The price realised for prime mutton was on a basis of 63d per lb.
