SPEED BOAT RACING.

FINAL TEST BEFORE WORLD CONTEST. (Unit'd Press Association —Bv Electric Telegraph Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) NEW YORK, March 19. At Miami beach, in preparation lor meeting Oar Wood’s Miss America VI [ to-morrow. Major Segrave to-day gave Miss England a final test ran before the contest, for the world speed Ivoat championship. After the test Major Segrave said: “We went much faster to-day than the boat had travelled before. The. new propeller we are using is very satistactory and the engine is working perfectly.” Segrave is testing carefully, for the life of the delicate engine is limited. Wood tested bis boat on the regular two miles course, and asked lor a rearrangement of the buoys to prevent sharp turns. The American boat is admittedly superior on a straight course, blit Segrave may have a decided advantage on the turns with lus lighter craft.
