G. A. Burgess and Air. F. Quin, presidents of the Hawera and Park Clubs, also spoke, welcoming the visitors to Hawera. The we. comes were acknowledged very happily by Air. Coldicutt, president of the Auckland howling centre. He paid a special compliment to the deputy-Alayor lor honouring the team with an ouiAal welcome, anu presented him with an Auckland centre badge m honour of the visit. He also spoke of ► the happy relations existing between the two centres. Air. Tony Tonkin, who had been on every tour of Taranaki hut one, and - Air. Heath, secretary of the centre, endorsed Air. Coldicutt’s remarks and assured the »South Taranaki bowlers that they were having a thoroughly good time in their midst and would look forward to their visiting Auckland. Aliss Ballantine also spoke and made a very happy speech of welcome. A programme, arranged by Air. Renwick, included songs by Air. A. E. Morris, Air. \V. G. Simpson, Air H. Eriggs, recitations by Mrs. Twaddle and Air. Heath (Auckland), with Air. Renwick at the piano. Community siilgiug was also indulged in. CLUB AIATCHES. HAWERA DEFEATS VISITORS. Six rinks of Aucklanders played at the Hawera green yesterday morning, when the local men had a good win by 154 points.
