Although the weather was threaten- 1 | ing there was a satisfactory attendance for the third day of the Victoria Racing Club’s autumn meeting. Cobranvoil was third early but won the Autumn Hurdles nicely. It was Rider Butler’s fourth win in the race in five years. There was a splendid contest for the C. M. Lloyd Stakes. Mollison was second early in the race and led at the distance. Gothic was Just in the straight but ran up to dead heat with the leader in (lie last stride. Sectional times were: First two furlongs, 26}sec; next two. 24;!-scc; last four, 46?, sec; concluding six, 1.13. Spanish Galleon on the outside led throughout in the Ascot Vale Stakes 'to win brilliantly. Owner E. M. Pearce won the race last, veal with Mollison. Jockey Wilson had a previous success with Cyden. Mondiaga was last to enter the r straight, in (he Autumn Handicap, bill won brilliantly. He was ridden by- the New Zealander. Ashlov Reed, and is owned by T. M. Burke. In the Governor’s Plate, which was an exercise gallop, Strephon led all the way. lie has now recorded six wins and a second in nine starts. His winnings approximate £IO.OOO in stakes.
