EFFORTS TO PROMOTE IT.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT URGED

Representatives of over 150 British firms and associations, with capital totalling a million sterling, attended a meeting of the Anglo-Ruis-sian Committee on March 5 and adopted a resolution stating that the delegation was going to Russia on March 25, heartily supporting the efforts to promote trade by direct contact with the Russian Government, declaring with satisiaction that certain of tli© largest British banks and financial houses approved of the delegation, and urging the committee to take steps to ensure the fullest financial support for British enterprise in Russia. Mr. Ernest Remnant said that the Russian Government's attitude was entirely friendly and businesslike.
