The course was in good order. There was a fail attendance, the totalisator receipts foi the day being £86,745, compared with ; £40,652 for the corresponding day of last year, a decrease of £3907. The total ! investments for the meeting were £77,125 10s this year and £85,624 for last ; year, a decrease of £8,498 10s. | ‘ SUBURBAN HANDICAP. The annual meeting of the Invercargill Trotting Club opened to-day in fine weather and with a large attendance, The track was in lair order.
