’A Geneva press cable message states that Sir Joseph Cook stated that his doctor had advised him to take a health trio to Australia, hut he was unable to'make the journey till after the general election, probably in June.
Messrs Myers, Templin, iToogood, Lancaster, Viekerman. Hunt, Clark and Griffin, who have been in Haw era in connection with the arbitration proceedings between the Hawera County Electric Coy, returned to Wellington to-day. The funeral of the late Mr George Dixon, who had been for about sixteen years a respected resident of Manaia, was held to-day- in .Ha wera. The first part of the service was conducted by Rev. J. R. Young in St. Mary’s Church and the rest at the graveside in tlfe Hawera Cemetery. Members of the ancient order of Foresters attended in regalia , out of respect for an old and respected member. The bearers - were Messrs C., Hunger, J. Borne, C. .Tones, N. Jones, Jas. Young and J. A. G, Cosgrove. j
