The weather was fine but cloudy for the races. At Flemington Aga Khan galloped five furlongs on the tan in 1.6|. Gleam Light ran 12 furlongs. Mondingo and Bratssart did ten furlongs on the grass in 2.234, the last four taking 35’. Leadlight did two furlongs in 2GJ. Cheosan ran four furlongs in 514. Belle Rouge and Lillicourt went five furlongs on the grass in. 1.5 J. HAWERA .TRACK NOTES. (By “Limited.”) 1 Heavy fog again interfered with training operations early this morning and there were few fast gallops. >N C. Jackson was early astir with his team. Benzora, Partaga, and Latakia. The latter has been heavily physicked recently and is just getting over the effects. Benzora and Partaga were given pace work. Partaga has oeen harshly treated by the handieapper at Rangitikei and is unlikely to make the ..rip. J. Fryer had the majority of his team out before breakfast and all performed serviceable tasks. Clover Leaf and Atair were galloped together 'over four furlongs, the former finishing in front in 50 3-ssee. Royal Acre and the Botoa—White Crane gelding wont half a mile in 514 see, with'nothing much between them at the finish. Coolmint and Xmas Tree, the latter has just recovered from a severe cold, were given half to three-quarters pace work. Tenacre did a solid twice round, running the last seven furlongs of his work in 1.41. Llanore went a couple of rounds at a solid pace. Bisox and Calyx galloped five furlongs but could not be timed. Bisox again finished in front of her younger relative.

Mr Bourke has been working Ms horse, Corner Off, privately and had him down to run along. Grand Marnia was his companion and the pair ran three furlongs in 384 sec, Grand Marnia finishing a shade in front. Glengariff and Airway were restricted to pace work as was Gasnapper; Gasnapper is the only one of M. Conway’s team likely to make the trip to Bulls. Reremoana cantered a round and galloped the last three furlongs of his second lao in 3-6 l-ssec.

Airtight, with H. Cook in the saddle, schooled a round of the hurdles, jumping satisfactorily. After a short respite, W. Pine’s team Sovena, Calamine and Ngawhine are all on the active list again and are nominated for Opunake.

Most of the Hawcra trained horses wijl be seen out at Opunake on Mareh 16.
