THE SMILE CASTLE

THE CASTLE PLEDGE. I promise to smile every time I can, and to chase all the frowns into the dark cave, where the Smile Giant will kill them with Ms Magic Sword Happiness.

My Dear Smiles, — Oh what a happy contented person I feel this morning! Yon know, don’t yon Smiles, how some mornings we wake np and, goodness me, we imagine everything seems to go “wrong.” Those are the days we have to smile our very hardest to make happiness and sunshine! But to-day! "Why it’s one of those days when everything just, goes “right.” How could it be otherwise, I ask myself. I have just come out into my garden to write my weekly letter to my Smiles, and as I stepped out the door the beautiful sunshine greeted me. The birds are hopping about in the trees singing their very best. I am seated in a lovely arbor overlooking a lake. To my mind it is not onr everyday pretty lake. The sun seems to have turned it into a glorious stretch of glistening diamonds, spark' ling and glinting about like a lot of tiny fairies. J-he pretty winged butterflies and the bees are flying about happily and the glorious perfume from the honeysuckle over my head adds to the glory of everything, why, Smiles, on a day like this I just feel brimming over with happiness. How could things go wrong on such a day.I feel I want to call out to the whole world to stop, look and listen and appreciate all the wonderful and beautiful things nature has given us. In this busy world of ours I fear lots of folks rush by it all unheeding. And now, liere I come to the opening of my mail. Dear Smiles, what a nice big hatch of letters! lam very happy to see that we are going to have more hoys among our Smiles this year, and hope they will all write and smile often. Lots of love to you all. Your Affectionate, SMILE QUEEN.
